Today’s activity will be to plant a Wildflower mix around the perimeter of the school yard. This will help encourage pollination in our own backyard.
Here is what to do:
Take your bag of seeds and Dixie Cups. Give each student seeds in their Dixie Cups.
Grab your rakes.
Take a walk with your class (at a time convenient to you) and find your class marker.
Rake and rough up the area. Have students spread the seed and then rough up the area gently again.
This is now your area to monitor. You are welcome to water and care for you Wildflower patch. Remember flowers love to be read to.
We have also included 2 online Read Aloud stories that highlight the importance of seeds and flowers.
